Thousands of people everyday are victims to what one might call body shaming.
Body Shaming, according to google, is the action or practice of humiliating someone by making mocking or critical comments about their body shape or size.
Why does body shaming exist in the first place?
I believe it's insecurity. That the person so carelessly pointing out flaws of these other people is scared of his/her/their own differences.
So now what's body positivity? Body positivity is the belief that all bodies are perfect. It's the acceptance that you, and your beautiful body, are exactly that; beautiful.
No matter your size, no matter those stretch marks, no matter the height, the weight, the race, the disability, the gender. It's beautiful.
Look at yourself in the mirror. Whoever may stare back at you speaks to you in volumes beyond compare.
Don't let anybody tell you that you aren't perfect. Don't let anybody push you down, make you feel less worthy of something because of the way you look.
Wear the clothes you want to.
Wear whatever makes you feel pretty.
Wear whatever makes you feel free.
Wear whatever makes you feel you.
Naturally we've all been victims of caring about what other people say. No matter how many times we may tell ourselves, it doesn't stop. Even a stranger's opinion matters sometimes. However, it's the power to differentiate between the good and the bad, one ability we humans have been gifted with, that helps us through these unnecessary criticisms.
Everybody is unique, every personality is unique, obviously, this makes every
person unique.
"Words cut deeper than knives."
Let your words be a shield. Tell yourself everyday that you are enough. That you are perfect. Don't let those sharp sentences pierce through you. You are strong and you are kind.
You are what this world needs, and it doesn't matter how you look, because on the outside and on the inside, you are beautiful.
